Carbs for Weight Loss

Believe it or not, certain carbs can assist you in your weight loss journey.
Here’s my top 5 list.

1- Oatmeal

Packed with 10 grams of protein per half-cup serving and its high fiber content, oatmeal helps slow the release of sugar and delivers steady energy.
And since the fiber in oatmeal is soluble, it lowers the risk of heart disease. Now that’s a great bonus!!

2- Acorn Squash

It contains a third of your day’s fiber requirement and contains thirty percent of your daily vitamin c needs which, according to the Arizona State University, increases the fat-burning effects of exercise.

3- Legumes

Being from Casablanca, Morocco, and growing up with the Mediterranean lifestyle, legumes such as lentils and chickpeas were always on the menu.
These are magic bullets for belly fat loss. A cup of Black beans for example has 12 grams of protein and 9 grams of fiber; they're also rich in folate, a B vitamin that stokes muscle growth, and copper, which strengthens tendons. On top of that, a study showed that consuming four weekly servings of beans or legumes accelerates weight loss.

4- Cherries

I’m talking about the tart cherry and not the ones you find during the summer at the supermarket. Why are they so great? Because researchers noted that cherries altered the expression of fat genes. That's why!!

5- Sweet Potatoes

You heard me! They can help you burn fat. The magic ingredients are carotenoids which are antioxidants that stabilize blood sugar levels and lower insulin resistance, which prevents calories from being converted into fat. On top of that, sweet potato is also rich in vitamin A, C, and B6 which gives you more energy to keep up with your everyday challenges.
