11 band exercises (for office and home)
Hi there, I hope you are having a great day.
Let’s begin our newsletter with something funny.
A husband sends a text to his wife.:
“Honey, I got hit by a car outside of the office. Tina brought me to the hospital.
They have been taking tests and doing x-rays. The blow to my head is very strong, maybe be serious. Also, I have 3 broken ribs, a broken arm, a compound fracture on my left leg and they may have to amputate the right foot.”
Wife's Response:
Who is Tina?
I’m pretty certain that my wife would have the same answer. But this blog is not about love, it’s about my favorite band exercises.
I love bands. I use them in my workouts, with my clients, and during corporate wellness demos.
In this blog, I will share with you my favorite band exercises.
So go ahead and print this workout and take it with you anytime you are crunched for time or when traveling.
Are you ready?
Band workout
Strength conditioning is super important especially as we get older.
There are several ways we can work on your muscles:
1- Using your bodyweight like when you do push-ups, crunches, or dips
2- Using gym machines or free weights. It’s great but it’s hard to throw a leg press or a cable machine in your luggage when you travel. Not very versatile!
3- Exercise bands. You can work every muscle without the need for bulky equipment. It’s also easy to take bands with you when you travel so you’ll never miss a workout again.
The workout includes strength, stretches, and cardio drills.
My take
My philosophy has always been that you must change the mind first and the body will follow.
How do you do that? Start with small changes like this band workout.
A band workout is an easy way to get a quick and easy workout in. Will you get benefits? Of course. Perhaps not as much as a high-intensity full-body workout.
But that’s not the point. The point is that you will feel better working out with bands even if it’s for five minutes.
When you feel better, your mind is in a better place.
When your mind is in a better place, you want to adopt more healthy habits.
And when that happens, results start appearing faster and workout intensity goes up not because you have to but because you want to.
And now, let’s eat
I’m all about easy-to-prepare healthy foods.
Today, I’m sharing with you one of my favorites. A Chickpea “Tuna” salad wrap. Great for lunch or dinner.
Bon appétit.
